Man in court over charity worker's death

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a charity worker and the attempted murder of a 16-year-old boy.

Alyson Watt, who was 52 and worked for Barnardo's Scotland, died on Friday following an incident in Penilee Road in Paisley.

The teenage boy remains in a critical condition in hospital following the same incident.

Gary Brown, who is 54, made no plea or declaration and was remanded into custody at Paisley Sheriff Court.
