A teenager has appeared in court charged over the death of a 33-year-old man in Paisley.

James Crossan, 18, is accused of killing Johnathan McEwan in the early hours of Saturday morning by "repeatedly" punching him.

Mr McEwan was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital after the attack to be treated for a head injury, but died on Tuesday.

Mr Crossan, from Paisley, was charged with culpable homicide. He made no plea or declaration.

The teenager originally appeared in court on Monday charged with attempted murder, but the charge was amended after Mr McEwan died.
