Three teenagers injured after car leaves road

Three teenagers have been injured, one seriously, after the car they were in left the road and ended up in a field Ayrshire.

The incident, involving a black Seat Ibiza, happened at about 02:50 on the A713 between Ayr and Patna.

The 17-year-old female driver and 19-year-old male passenger were taken to Ayr Hospital. A female passenger, aged 14, was treated at Crosshouse Hospital.

The man was later moved to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

His condition was said to be serious but stable.

Sgt Iain Pittams said: "I would appeal to anyone who was on the A713 in the early hours of Sunday morning and may have witnessed the crash to get in touch.

"Similarly if anyone saw a black Seat Ibiza on the road around the time of the incident, please come forward."
