Man held in Renfrew sex attack inquiry released from custody

A man who was arrested in connection with an alleged sex attack on a teenage girl in a Renfrewshire park has been released from custody.

The 30-year-old was detained on Thursday in connection with an alleged incident involving a 15-year-old in Robertson Park, Renfrew.

The attack was said to have taken place on Monday 14 November.

The man was due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Friday but was instead freed from custody.

A spokesman for the Crown Office said: "The procurator fiscal received a report concerning a 30-year-old man in connection with an alleged incident on 14 November.

"After full and careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, he was liberated from custody pending further inquiries and did not appear in court."
