Police investigate rape of woman at flat in Glasgow

Police have launched an investigation after a woman was reportedly raped at a flat in the south side of Glasgow.

The 34-year-old woman was subjected to a serious sexual assault in a flat on Dixon Avenue in the early hours of the morning on 30 October.

Dixon Avenue is in the Govanhill area of the city and runs from Victoria Road to Cathcart Road.

Police Scotland said inquiries were ongoing and appealed for witnesses to get in touch.

Det Insp Graeme McLachlan said: "Inquiries are at an early stage to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and officers are currently examining CCTV footage and speaking to local residents.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area in the early hours of Sunday morning who may have seen anything suspicious to get in touch.

"Anyone with information can contact officers at Greater Glasgow's Public Protection Unit via 101 or alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given anonymously."
