Second man charged with murder over Stevenston death

A second man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man who died following a disturbance in Stevenston in Ayrshire.

John Smith, 52, was found critically injured at Misk Knowes on 8 October. He died in hospital three days later.

Craig Munro, 30, made no plea or declaration when he appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court. He was remanded in custody.

He was also charged with assault to severe injury and attempted murder.

Another man, Allan Robertson, 26, has previously appeared in court charged with murdering Mr Smith.
