Four masked men carried out house attack in Paisley

Police are attempting to trace four masked men who carried out an assault at a house in Paisley.

They attacked a 52-year-old man in his home in Candren Road, in the Ferguslie Park area, at about 13:50 on Monday

The victim managed to escape from the house but was followed by the men and attacked again. He managed to get to a friends home nearby and alert police.

The man was taken to the town's Royal Alexandra Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

Det Insp Sandy Nelson said: "We are still trying to establish a motive for this violent attack and are carrying out door-to-door inquiries in an attempt to gain further information.

"I'd like to speak to anyone who saw the group of masked men in the Candren Road area around the time that the incident took place on Monday afternoon."
