Trains disrupted by signalling fault between Glasgow and Pollokshields

ScotRail

Rail commuters faced early morning disruption due to a signalling fault between Glasgow Central and Pollokshields West.

Some ScotRail services in Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire, South Lanarkshire and Ayrshire were affected.

Engineers worked to fix the problem and limited replacement buses were offered.

At about 08:20, lines were reopened with services running again on most routes. The rail operator warned of "residual disruption".

Services were running again from Glasgow Central to Neilston/Newton/Barrhead/East Kilbride/Carlisle/Cathcart.

Disruption between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida/Crossmyloof was expected until 09:00.
