Man faces murder trial over house death in North Lanarkshire

A man is to stand trial charged with the murder of a father-of-eight in his North Lanarkshire home.

John McKay, 45, is accused of killing 43-year-old William Scott in Chapelhall in April this year.

It is alleged that Mr McKay repeatedly struck him with a knife and inflicted "blunt force trauma".

At the High Court in Glasgow, Mr McKay entered a plea of not guilty to the murder charge and a trial date was set for March next year.
