CCTV images appeal over 'brutal' bottle attack on bus

Police have issued CCTV images of two men they want to trace over a "brutal" bottle attack on a bus in Glasgow.

A man was left seriously injured after being assaulted on the number 9 First Bus service, in the city's south side, at about 18:00 on Saturday 30 January.

The men in the CCTV images were seen leaving the bus close to Oswald Street, near to the Broomielaw.

Police have asked anyone who recognises the men, or who witnessed the attack, to contact them.

The first man is described as white, with red hair and a beard.

At the time of the attack he was wearing a green and white Adidas tracksuit top, a light coloured skip cap and was carrying a ruck sack.

'State of shock'

The second man is described as a white. He was wearing a heavy work-style jacket with high visibility stripes, a light coloured hooded top and a winter style hat with ear flaps attached and was also carrying a rucksack.

Det Con Nikki McPherson said: "This was brutal attack that took place on public transportation. This assault left a man seriously injured and the other passengers in a state of shock.

"It is important that we trace the persons responsible as soon as possible. We have issued images of two men that we wish to speak to in connection with this incident.

"Anyone with any information as to the identity of these men is asked to contact police. We are also asking that anyone who witnessed this incident and is yet to come forward and speak to police, please get in contact."
