Three men held after rooftop 'siege' in Glasgow

Three men have been arrested following a rooftop incident in Glasgow which saw specialist negotiators deployed along with the police helicopter.

Officers were called to a disturbance in Scaraway Street, in the Milton area of the city, at about 22:10 on Sunday.

After they arrested a 28-year-old man, a group of other men climbed on to the roof of a nearby building.

Following negotiations, two other men, aged 28 and 35, were arrested at 04:30. Police remain at the scene.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "At 2220 police attended an address in Scaraway Street after reports of a group of men behaving suspiciously.

"A 28-year-old man was arrested and other men climbed onto a roof.

"The police helicopter was called to assist as well as specialist negotiators."

The spokesman added: "At 0430, two further men, aged 28 and 35, were arrested.

"Police are still at the scene and investigations are continuing."
