Probe into sex assault in Woodlands area of Glasgow

Police have launched an investigation after a woman was sexually assaulted in the Woodlands area of Glasgow.

The 19-year-old was approached by a man at the junction of West End Park Street and West Princes Street at about 23:20 on Tuesday.

After the assault, he shouted sexual remarks before leaving the scene.

Police said the man responsible was in his 30s, of heavy build and he was wearing black, thin-rimmed glasses at the time of the attack.

Det Con Graham Morrison said: "This incident took place in a residential area which is usually quiet at that time on a Tuesday night.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact police.

"Officers are continuing with enquiries, examining CCTV footage and speaking to local residents. Sexual crimes will not be tolerated in our community."
