Police have released an image of a car they want to trace after a cyclist was struck from behind during a hit-and-run incident in East Renfrewshire.

Officers said they would like to speak to the driver of a silver Ford Mondeo over the incident in Eaglesham on Monday 15 February.

The 36-year-old man was cycling towards the Moors Road when he was struck.

He was taken to hospital with serious back and leg injuries but has since been released.

The driver of the car failed to stop at the time of the incident.

Sgt Jackie Dunbar, from Greater Glasgow's Road Policing Unit, said: "A cyclist was seriously injured during this incident and it is critical that we find the person responsible.

"Officers have revisited the scene to speak to motorists and pedestrians who frequent the area in a bid to glean more information about what happened."
