Paul McCaroll named as Parkhead suspicious death victim

Police have named a man who was fatally injured during an overnight disturbance in the east end of Glasgow.

Paul McCaroll, 49, lived in Westmuir Street, in the Parkhead area, where the incident took place at about 00:40 on Tuesday.

He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary but died a short time later.

Detectives are treating the death as suspicious. Mr McCaroll's relatives have been told and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
