Man dies after car and lorry collide in North Ayrshire

A 45-year-old man has died after the car he was driving collided with a lorry on the A71 in North Ayrshire.

The man's blue Ford Focus and a red HGV collided between the Warrix Interchange and Corsehillmount roundabout, near Dreghorn, at about 20:50 on Wednesday.

The car driver died at the scene. The 36-year-old man who was driving the lorry was uninjured.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have any information to contact them.
