The body of a 70-year-old man missing since New Year's Day has been recovered from a river in Ayrshire.

Graham Johnstone had not been seen since leaving his home in Annbank on Friday 1 January.

Air and foot searches had been carried out around river paths and routes where he was known to walk.

Police said his body was recovered from the River Ayr, near Tarholm Bridge. There appeared to be no suspicious circumstances.
