Boy 'critical' after being hit by van in Glasgow

An 11-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a van in the south side of Glasgow.

The boy was struck by a Renault Trafic van, while crossing Langside Drive, near its junction with Monreith Road, at about 16:00 on Thursday.

He is being treated for a head injury at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable.

The male van driver, 47, was uninjured. Police have appealed for witnesses.
