Kyle McLoney faces trial over alleged Glasgow hotel rape

A man is to stand trial charged with repeatedly raping a woman in a Glasgow hotel room.

Kyle McLoney, 21, from the city's Summerston area, denies carrying out the attack at the Novotel Hotel, Pitt Street, in February 2015.

The charge includes claims that he restricted her breathing, ignored pleas to stop and put his hand over her mouth to stop the woman screaming.

At the High Court in Glasgow, a trial date was set for July.

Mr McLoney also denies separate charges of assault and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.
