Elderly woman injured in dog attack in Kilsyth

A 31-year-old woman has been reported to prosecutors after an elderly woman and her pet Jack Russell were attacked by another dog in North Lanarkshire.

The dog, described as a Staffordshire mix, carried out the attack in Kilsyth's Johnstone Avenue, near Howe Road, at about at 14:00 on Tuesday.

The injured 78-year-old woman attended Monklands Hospital. Her dog was treated by a local vet.

Police said a 31-year-old woman had been reported to the procurator fiscal.
