Easdale brothers bid for Ferguson Shipbuilders in Port Glasgow
Sandy and James Easdale, the Rangers directors who run McGills buses, have confirmed they have lodged a formal bid for Ferguson Shipbuilders.
Prospective buyers for the financially-stricken business in Port Glasgow had until 17:00 on Thursday to submit offers to joint administrators.
Blair Nimmo and Tony Friar of KPMG said several parties had expressed interest.
About 70 staff were made redundant on Friday after the firm went bust due to a lack of orders and cash flow issues.
Originally formed in 1902, Ferguson Shipbuilders employed 77 staff at the time of the administration appointments.
