A man is to stand trial for attempted murder over a shooting in the east end of Glasgow earlier this year.

Thomas Todd is accused of attacking 33-year-old Darren Higgins in Westmuir Street, Parkhead, on 23 January.

It is claimed the 36-year-old, while acting with another, discharged a firearm at Mr Higgins, shooting him on the body.

Mr Todd denied the charge during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow. A trial date was set for September.
