Uddingston house barricaded after reports of dog bite

A house in Uddingston was barricaded shut for more than two hours after police responded to reports that someone had been bitten by a dog.

Police arrived at Old Glasgow Road at 07:45 after reports of a disturbance and a man being bitten by a Doberman.

An officer was assaulted and the occupants of the house also allegedly threatened police with weapons.

Firearm officers arrived and three men, aged 21, 22 and 38, were arrested. A dog was removed for its own wellbeing.

Police said a number of weapons were recovered and three men were taken into custody at 10:05. They are expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.

One officer was treated in Hairmyres Hospital for a minor injury and has since been released.

The man who was bitten by the Doberman suffered a minor injury. The animal is currently being retained by police.
