Gangland figure Tam McGraw's brother Francis murdered
The brother of the late gangland figure Tam McGraw has been found murdered at his home in the east end of Glasgow.
The body of Francis McGraw, 55, was found at his flat in Hermiston Road, in the Springboig area, on Sunday morning.
Police have said there is nothing to suggest his murder is linked to another 24-hours later in nearby Shettleston.
Tam McGraw, known as the Licensee, was linked to murders and drug trafficking before his death, at the age 55, from a suspected heart attack in 2007.
Det Ch Insp Jim Kerr, of Police Scotland, said: "There have now been two murders in Shettleston, Glasgow, in the past 24 hours.
"I would like to reassure local people that extra officers are now on patrol in their area and that additional detectives have been drafted in from throughout the force area to find those responsible for both attacks.
"However, regarding speculation that the murder of Mr McGraw in Springboig is related to serious and organised crime, well this is extremely unhelpful and could indeed jeopardise our investigation. I would like to stress that there is nothing to suggest that is the case at this time.
"There is also nothing to indicate just now, that his death is linked to the murder inquiry ongoing in Etive Street, Shettleston."
Det Ch Insp Kerr advised anyone with concerns in the local area to contact police.
