Three cases of Legionnaires' disease in North Ayrshire

Health officials have said that three people in North Ayrshire are now being treated for Legionnaires' disease.

NHS Ayrshire and Arran confirmed two cases on 25 September and said on Tuesday it had been told of another.

The health board said there did not appear to be any link between the most recent case and the previous two. All three people are recovering well.

It said officials were working closely with colleagues from other agencies to identify the source of the infection.
