Biker 'seriously hurt' in Carluke bus smash

One person has been seriously injured in a crash involving a motorbike and a bus in South Lanarkshire.

The collision took place at about 16:00 on the A73 Lanark Road just south of the centre of Carluke.

It is believed that the motorbike hit a stationary bus, which was close to a bus stop. There were no passengers on board.

The driver of the bus was not seriously injured and the serious casualty is thought to be the rider of the bike.

Police closed the road in both directions to allow for investigation work.
