Body found in search for missing woman Lucia Piacentini
Police searching for a pharmacist who had been missing from her Glasgow home have confirmed that a woman's body has been found in a nearby public park.
Lucia Piacentini, 44, was last seen at her home in the city's Cathcart area on Sunday 28 July.
Her partner Fiona Rae and sister Chiara had led an appeal for her safe return.
The woman's body was found in Linn Park at 16:35 on Sunday. Although the body has to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of Ms Piacentini.
A post mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of death.
Police said there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the woman's death.
A full report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
Police said last week that they were concerned for Ms Piacentini as she suffered from depression and did not have her medication with her.
Following her disappearance, family and friends mounted a campaign to trace her and distributed posters and leaflets across Glasgow's south side.
They also appealed for information on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
