Police probe alleged sex attack on woman at park in Ayr

Police have launched an inquiry after reports that a woman was sexually assaulted in a park in Ayr.

Officers were alerted to an incident in Castlehill Park, near Castlehill Road, in the early hours of Sunday.

The area has been sealed off and a forensics tent has been erected over an area within the park, which remains closed to the public.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said that inquiries into the incident were at an early stage.
