Man in court over £318,000 cannabis haul in Stonehouse

A man has appeared in court in connection with a £318,000 cannabis seizure in a village in Lanarkshire.

Thin Trong Ngo, 52, was arrested by officers from Strathclyde Police who searched a house in New Street, Stonehouse, at about 20:30 on Friday.

He appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court charged with being concerned in the supply of drugs, producing a controlled drug and he faced a further allegation under the Electricity Act 1989.

He made no plea or declaration.

He was remanded in custody until his next appearance.
