Robbers target blind man at his Penilee home

Detectives are hunting for two men who forced their way into a blind man's home in Glasgow and robbed him.

Strathclyde Police said money and jewellery was stolen in the robbery on Craigmuir Place, in the Penilee area of the city, at about 16:00 on Friday.

The 49-year-old had answered his door to the men, was pushed back inside and threatened with what is thought to have been a knife.

The pair made off on foot. Officers have appealed for information.

Det Insp Craig Warren said: "This is a despicable and cowardly crime, carried out on a very vulnerable man. It has been a terrifying experience for him.

"We are carrying out door-to-door inquiries and checking CCTV footage to try to find the men responsible."
