Plea after knife raid on Paisley newsagents

An 18-year-old shop assistant was threatened at knifepoint during a raid on a newsagents in Paisley.

Police said a man entered the Ralston News Store in Penilee Road at about 13:40 on Friday and demanded money.

As he fled the shop he was joined by a second man. The pair escaped with a three-figure sum of cash.

The male shop worker was not hurt but was left badly shaken. Police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

The first suspect was described as white, in his early 20s, 5ft 6ins - 5ft 8ins tall and of medium build with short fair hair. He was wearing a black padded jacket and blue jeans.

The second suspect was white, in his early 20s with short brown hair. He was wearing a dark-coloured tracksuit.
