Notre Dame High School blacked out by power surge

A school in Inverclyde has been closed for several days after a power surge left it without an electricity supply.

Notre Dame High School, in Greenock, is scheduled to reopen on Thursday once repair work has been completed.

Pupils who were due to sit Higher prelim exams will be able to do so at St Joseph's Parish Church Hall, Greenock, on Wednesday.

Inverclyde Council said it would alert parents if the school was able to reopen before Thursday.
