Three men badly injured in Ayrshire crash

Three men have been seriously injured in a crash in Auchinleck, Ayrshire in the early hours of the morning.

Police said a 22-year-old was driving his Vauxhall Astra on Barony Road at 0250 GMT when the vehicle hit a tree.

The driver is in a critical condition in Ayr Hospital. His 24-year-old front seat passenger is also critically injured and has been transferred from Ayr to Glasgow's Southern General.

A 36-year-old passenger is in a serious condition in hospital in Kilmarnock.

Strathclyde Police appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
