Man facing jail over Glasgow abuse confession

A man is facing a prison term for sexually abusing three young girls, after he confessed to his mother.

Shaun McMillan, 20, admitted abusing his victims at houses in Glasgow between 2002 and 2007.

The High Court in Glasgow heard how he told his mother he had abused two of the girls, after she confronted him on hearing allegations.

A third victim came forward during the police inquiry. McMillan will be sentenced next month.

The court heard how McMillan, from Possilpark, Glasgow, began committing the offences when he was just 13.

He abused one girl when she was aged between nine and 11, another when she was aged between seven and 11 and his third victim between the ages of eight and 12.

Judge Lord Wheatley placed him on the sex offenders register and deferred sentence for background reports until next month, at the High Court in Edinburgh.
