Man, 32, dies in Greenock Prison

A fatal accident inquiry is to be held after a man died in custody in Greenock Prison, Inverclyde.

In a statement, the Scottish Prison Service said 32-year-old Paul Harper died on Thursday.

He had been convicted at Greenock Sheriff Court on 17 November of theft by housebreaking.

The prison service said Mr Harper's family had been informed and an inquiry into his death would be held in due course.
