Search on for Glasgow bank robber

Detectives are hunting a robber who made off with a four figure sum from a Glasgow bank in broad daylight.

The raid happened at about 1610 GMT at the London Road branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Strathclyde Police said the man threatened a 27-year-old member of staff, before running towards Landressy Road, leaving behind something staff thought might be a bomb.

The bank was evacuated but the suspect item was later found to be safe.

The robber was described as being about 5ft 3ins tall, of slim to medium build.

He was wearing a dark hooded top and dark trousers and was carrying a white, green and red carrier bag.
