Police investigating a serious assault on a man in Glasgow believe he may have been attacked by a gang of teenagers.
The 51-year-old was attacked as he made his way along Fingask Street, in the Sandyhills area of Shettleston, at about 2220 GMT on Friday.
Four or five youths, aged between 15 and 18 years old, who were wearing dark clothing are thought to have carried out the assault.
The victim is in a stable condition after suffering a serious head injury.
Det Con Kevin Price, of Strathclyde Police, said: "We are determined to find the youths responsible for this senseless and unprovoked attack on this local man who was simply making his way home.
"Given that the attack happened in a residential area we are hopeful that someone within the local community may have seen something which could assist us with our inquiries."
