An investigation is under way after shots were fired at a house in Paisley, Renfrewshire, at the weekend.

A man is believed to have discharged a firearm in Dee Drive at about 1525 GMT on Sunday. No-one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is believed to have been driven to and from the area in a red or burgundy car.

He was wearing a dark hooded top, a black jumper, and possibly a black balaclava with a white patterned front.

Det Sgt Andrew Piper, of Strathclyde Police, said: "At this time we are trying to establish a motive for this crime and why the householders have been targeted.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area on Sunday afternoon and saw or heard anything to come forward. Officers are currently studying local CCTV and carrying out door-to-door inquires.

"I believe someone in the local community may have vital information and ask anyone with knowledge of this incident to come forward."
