Man stable after being stabbed in broad daylight

A 28-year-old is in hospital after being stabbed by a group of men in broad daylight in Glasgow's Maryhill area on Tuesday.

The victim was walking on Murano Street at its junction with Murano Place when three men aged 30-40 got out a Transit van and attacked him at about 1725 BST.

They ran along Murano Street and got back into the van in Benview Street.

The man was taken to Glasgow Western Infirmary with stab wounds. His condition is "serious but stable".

All three suspects were wearing tracksuits or jogging bottoms.

Det Sgt Brian Gribbons from Strathclyde Police said: "Officers have been speaking to local residents and carrying out door-to-door inquiries in a bid to glean more information.

"At this point in time, there would appear to be no clear motive for this violent and mindless attack."
