Man admits blood syringe robbery

A man has admitted spraying a shop owner with a syringe full of blood during a robbery in Renfrewshire.

Craig Spence, 32, from Renfrew, attacked Anil Parkash in his Paisley newsagent before making off with the till, in June this year.

The High Court in Glasgow heard how the assault was captured on CCTV and Spence was caught minutes after the robbery.

Judge Lord Matthews deferred sentence and told Spence that community service was an "extremely unlikely outcome".
