Fire tamed at disused city school

About 30 firefighters have been involved in tackling a blaze at a disused school in the south of Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to the former Carnwadric Primary School, in Thornliebank, at 0935 BST on Tuesday.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue called in crews from Pollok, Polmadie, Govan and Clarkston to deal with the blaze.

It was extinguished by eight firefighters who entered the building wearing breathing apparatus. The cause is not yet known.
