Man charged under Explosives Act in Edinburgh

A man has been charged under the Explosives Act after items were found during an unrelated call-out to the death of a teenage woman in Edinburgh.

Peter Morgan, 34, was arrested on Wednesday following investigations by a bomb disposal team in Taylor Place, Meadowbank.

He made a brief appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Mr Morgan made no plea, was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

Police were called to an address in the street on Sunday where they found a 18-year-old woman unconscious.

Paramedics attended soon after but the teenager died before she could be taken to hospital.

Her death is being treated as unexplained.
