A 74-year-old man who was hit by a lorry on a street in Edinburgh is in a critical condition in hospital.
The man was struck by the HGV on Lanark Road, at the junction with Baberton Crescent, at about 14:50 on Monday, police said.
The man is being treated at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
The road was closed for about four-and-half-hours while a police investigation was held. Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.
Sgt Kosmas Papakyriakou, of Police Scotland, said: "We believe that there were a number of people in the area at the time and we're appealing for them to get in touch with us.
"Likewise, I would urge anyone who was on Lanark Road or near Baberton Crescent on Monday morning, and may have witnessed the accident, to contact us immediately."
