Woman hurt after car mounts pavement in Edinburgh

A woman has been knocked down by a car after it mounted the pavement in an Edinburgh city centre street.

The injured woman was taken to hospital following the incident on North West Circus Place at about 12:45. No details were released about her condition.

The pedestrian was hit by a white Volkswagen Up.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said a 65-year-old woman had been charged with a road traffic offence after the collision.
