Brian Martin in court over Scottish Cup Final disorder

A Hibernian fan has appeared in court charged with playing a part in the pitch invasion at the end of the Scottish Cup Final earlier this year.

Brian Martin, 31, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court to face a charge under the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act.

He is accused of running on to the pitch after the match between Hibs and Rangers and approaching Rangers fans.

Martin is also charged with hitting a man and knocking him to the ground.

Court papers claim he gesticulated towards the Rangers fans in "an aggressive manner".

Martin, of Edinburgh, pled not guilty through his lawyer and was granted bail. A trial date was set for March next year.
