Woman hurt after car and bus crash in Strathkinness, Fife

A woman has been injured after her car and a bus crashed near St Andrews.

The accident happened at the junction of Main Street and the B393 at Strathkinness just before 09:00.

The woman was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, but her injuries were not thought to be serious.

Paramedics treated the bus driver at the scene, and the 13 passengers where not hurt. The road was closed and drivers were advised to use local diversions.

A spokeswoman for Stagecoach East Scotland said: "One of our vehicles operating on route X59 was involved in an incident with a car near Strathkinness this morning.

"There are no injuries to our passengers or our driver, however, we understand the car driver has sustained injuries.

"Safety is our highest priority and we will conduct a thorough investigation into the full circumstances as well as assisting the police with their inquiries."
