Dalgety Bay death treated as 'unexplained'

The body of a woman has been discovered at Dalgety Bay in Fife. Police said she was found at about 15:00 on Saturday.

Her death is currently being treated as "unexplained" by the force.

A spokesman said inquiries into the circumstances of her death were still ongoing.

A statement added: "Police Scotland can confirm that a body of a 57-year-old woman was discovered on the shore near St Colme Road in Dalgety Bay at around 3pm on Saturday, November 12th.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained pending the result of a post mortem examination however there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances at this time.

"Next of kin has been informed and officers are continuing to offer them support at this difficult time."
