Driver hurt in 'violent' attack outside West Lothian club
A man has been assaulted in an "unnecessary and violent" attack outside a West Lothian nightclub.
The 28-year-old was sitting in his parked car outside the EQHQ nightclub in Almondside, Livingston, on Saturday at about 20:40 when two men asked to be driven to Livingston Village.
He refused and one of the men punched the window.
The man drove off but returned soon afterwards, thinking both men had left the area. However, they had not.
When the driver got out of his car, one of the men punched him in the head while the other tried to hold his arms.
The driver was hit several times in the head and body.
He was taken to St John's Hospital by ambulance for treatment. He was said to be in a stable condition.
Police have appealed for information on the attack.
Det Con Christopher Kay, of Police Scotland, said: "I want to hear from anyone who was in the area of the EQHQ nightclub on the night in question and who saw this incident or who can help identify either suspect.
"This was a completely unnecessary and violent attack which has resulted in an innocent man requiring hospital treatment.
"This sort of criminal behaviour is unacceptable and I'm extremely keen to ensure those responsible are swiftly arrested."
