Edinburgh Police probe attack race link
A 33-year-old man has been arrested in Edinburgh after an assault police believe is connected to an earlier hate crime.
The assault took place at a bus stop in Great Junction Street near the Ladbrokes at about 15:45 on Thursday.
Police said the 18-year-old victim was uninjured.
The earlier hate crime involved a man who was subject to racial abuse as he was believed to be boarding the number 22 Lothian Bus.
Officer have urged the man to come forward.
PC Christopher Paul said: "This type of behaviour is absolutely unacceptable and we're also asking any witnesses, or anyone with information which can help, to get in touch.
"There was about three adults in the area of the bus stop at the time of these incidents who we're particularly eager to speak to."
