Suspicious stairwell fires in Edinburgh 'are linked'
Two suspicious fires set in stairwells in Edinburgh are linked, police believe.
Between Wednesday 8 June and Thursday 16 June, two fires were set in stairwells in Saughton Mains Park.
Both times the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the flames and no one was injured.
Police Scotland officers believe the incidents are linked and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Det Con Jeanette McCulloch, of Police Scotland, said: "Fortunately, these fires did not result in any injury or significant damage to the properties but had the flames spread or become too difficult for the fire service to handle, we could have been dealing with far more serious offences.
"We would ask anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in the Saughton Mains Park area to contact police immediately.
"In addition, anyone with information that can help us identify those responsible should also get in touch."
