A 25-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of another man in Fife.

Ian Goodall, 54, was found dead in his home in Minto Crescent, Glenrothes, at about 09:40 on Saturday.

Police said the arrested man appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court earlier.

Det Insp Stuart Wilson said: "We'd urge anyone who may have seen Ian in the local area, or anyone entering or leaving his home between midnight and 9.40am on Saturday, to get in touch."

He added: "Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be vital in helping us to form a wider picture of the events leading up to Ian's death."

Insp Joanne McEwan, who is based at Glenrothes, said: "Local officers will be conducting reassurance patrols and doing all possible to support the Major Investigation Team's investigation.

"Our condolences are with Ian's family at this difficult time, and anyone in the community with concerns or information is urged to speak to officers."
